You Are A Badass: A Book Review
I skipped a Monday, but I’m back with a book review. This time it’s Jen Sincero’s You Are A Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. I mean, it already sounds pretty cool, and since I’ve been interested in self-help books, this one was on the top of my list.
You Are A Badass comes in some other subjects as well; You Are A Badass At Making Money and You Are A Badass Every Day. I read the regular one, which also talks about the subject Money and I think if you read the one I read, you don’t necessarily need to read the others.
My thoughts on You Are A Badass
You Are A Badass is a really fun self-help book. It didn’t feel like me, the reader, was overly depressed and needed a change, it is written for everyone.
The tips and tricks are somewhat strange sometimes. If I’m honest, I haven’t tried them all (which maybe be the explanation nothing major has changed in my life yet). The book just talks about the possibilities and what is needed to make a change, without it sounding condescending.
Jen Sincero writes with a lot of humor, and therefore makes this book not feel like therapy with a psychologist but more of a good talk with a friend. A few anecdotes here and there make it personal and with adaptions for everyone, whether you believe in God, the Universe or Source Energy, you can feel some sort of truth in there. It feels real.
Bad part about it was that in the end of the book, it was a little repetitive. It’s obvious that success – whether it’s with making money, dieting, or doing something you want – is achieved the same way. But everytime Jen explained it.
