Monthly wrap-up: July 2020
Another month gone and the slump is still strong. July was over in a blink of an eye, but looking back it always seemed to last forever.
I went on a short holiday at the beginning of the month and that feels like months ago. Since then, I almost went into full lockdown again, cause the numbers are going up and I’m still scared.
A new and fun thing is that we bought Paper Mario for the Nintendo Switch and it is addictive. I haven’t visited my Animal Crossing Island in over a week, because I just want to play Mario.
Other than that, not much is going on in my personal life. So we’re on to what happened this month in bookworld.
July in books
Books I read
I haven’t read as much, but I’m so far ahead of schedule that I don’t mind. This month, I read a total of five books, one being a study book for my writing course. I only have to read 2 books the rest of the year to reach my goal, so I think I’ll make that 🙂
Books I hauled
I didn’t think I hauled books this month, but looking back, I actually have.
July in the blogosphere
Yet again, I haven’t been blog-hopping as much. So I’ll just shamelessly put my own blog of July in this section:
Looking into August
Honestly, not much different than the other last months. Just sitting at home, working, reading and playing Paper Mario and Animal Crossing. Hope you all have a great August!

Hey there!
My name is Jas, welcome to my blog. XIV is about my life around my lucky number. You’ll find anything from songs and books to trips and family stuff.
I really want to get Paper Mario so bad! It looks like so much fun. Nice job reading five books in July! With the ratings you gave, it looks like they were all pretty good. Nice little haul too! I love the book cover for Windfall so much. Eleanor & Park was a really great book. I hope you have an amazing August.
I hope you do! I almost finished the game already, I played it so much 😅
Thank you! It really was a good reading month 🙂 Windfall is so pretty, I hope the book is good too.
I hope you have a great August too!

I had a reading slump in July too, but I’m crossing my fingers that August is better for both of us. Stay safe!
Usually my reading in the Summer is way better than in Winter, but not this year.. I hope you have a good August! Thank you so much for stopping by 🙂
Time really is moving strangely this year – I always thought it got faster every year, but 2020 has felt like an eternity.. but then again, it feels like March was yesterday.
Sorry to hear you’re in a slump.
Looks like you had a pretty decent reading month though!! I read If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane last month so I’m excited to see you enjoyed another book by that author – I’ll definitely have to give it a try at some point.
Happy August!
Right! It is such a strange year.
Ooh, I haven’t heard of that book by Mhairi McFarlane, but I loved Don’t You Forget About me so I’ll definitely have to give the other one a try 🙂
Thank you! Hope you have a good August!
