Monthly wrap-up: April 2020
April is already over – or is finally over. I am so confused, because it felt like the longest and shortest month at the same time.
I’ve been in a slump blogging wise. The weather was wonderful for all of April, but the last week it started raining a lot and my mood got stormy too. So I didn’t feel like doing anything.
To cheer myself up, I got on the hype train and bought Animal Crossing New Horizons and guys, it’s so fun and relaxing. I haven’t done anything else productive since it got here.
This month I had also two exciting things. One was obviously my birthday! I had to celebrate it a bit different this year, but the day still felt special and there was cake. So I say it was a success!
Secondly, I started a new course! It’s an editing course. Editing for books and stories. I have to write a lot of stories myself too and hopefully it makes me a better writer. The course ends in December and classes are online. I’m super nervous (Feedback always feels so personal) but also really excited (writing!!). I’ll give updates about how it goes.
April in books
Books I read
I read a LOT! At least for me, because some readers are not impressed by 11 books a month. I am though! Thanks to the Scribd-subscription, which made me seriously doubt if I should start paying for it. At least now I’m 11 books ahead of schedule π

Rating: 4 out of 5.Books I hauled
The library is still closed, my 30 day trial of Scribd is over, so the haul was very limited.
I did buy one book and I got one book of Netgalley!
April in the blogosphere
- Jess @ Comfort Reads talks about reading Shakespeare, and now I want to try it too!
- Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricanes paired some of her favorite books with songs from her playlist, and it’s such a creative idea.
- Belle @ Belle Can Read discusses why she likes author’s notes and when you should read them.
I have been a bit inactive the past two weeks, because of the slump I talk about on my birthday post and in the beginning of this post.

Looking into May
Honestly, I don’t know. A lot of Animal Crossing, hopefully a little more reading than last week. A lot of writing for my new course and hopefully some more writing for the blog too.

Happy to see that youβre enjoying Animal Crossing. That game has taken up so much of my time, haha. Probably a big reason why Iβm not reading as much as I usually do. Amazing job reading 11 books! I love What If Itβs Us and I really need to read Emmy & Oliver as soon as possible! π
Yes, same here. I haven’t read as much in May as I would have due to Animal Crossing. It is so fun and relaxing though! Ahh, yes, Emmy & Oliver made it all the way to my all-time favorite stack, so I think you really should read it as soon as possible π Thank you so much for stopping by!!
