Being bored isn’t necessarily bad. With self-care being a big issue now, it is important to know that being bored is kind of good.

I know, it feels wrong. But after all the holidays in December, January can feel a little dull. And as someone who has a lot of spare time, it’s good to know that you don’t have to feel guilty if you do these things from time to time to entertain yourself:

What do you mean ‘bored’?

1. Go shopping.

Shopping is always a good idea.

2. Go to the gym.

Work on your summer body and feel productive at the same time!

3. Catch up with a friend.

Now’s the time to call or visit that friend you’ve been wanting to call for a while.

4. Pick a good book.

If you need inspiration, I can give you my list of favorite books.

5. Read blogs.

Mine, or other blogs. I usually use Bloglovin’ for this.

6. Play (stupid) online games.

Spare time also means just relaxing and one way to do that is by playing games.

7. Go on an adventure.

This can be anything you want.

8. Make a five-year plan.

It doesn’t have to be set in stone, but thinking about what you want to do with your life is an important part of getting there.

9. Clean.

It will not only be good for your house or room, but also for your mind.

10. Start a hobby

I’m trying out photography and editing, so I set out in nature and take pictures. Like the one above ↑.

11. Make a collage for your house/future house/bedroom.

Want to renovate your house or room? Go on Pinterest and search for inspiration. Who knows what kind of ideas your getting! Maybe next time, you can start renovating when you have time to spare.

12. Binge-watch your favorite shows or movies.

So many shows, so little time.

13. Take a roadtrip somewhere.

The beach, the park, family far away.

14. Try out new recipes.

Start baking (or cooking)!

What do you do when you’re bored?
