I should have read that book tag
Hey book friends! I’m in such a blogging slump because of… well life I guess. But I got tagged by Meghan to do the I Should Have Read That tag and I couldn’t resist! (Will this be my way out of the slump? I hope so!)
The Rules:
- Thank the person who tagged you and link back to their post.
- Link to the creator’s blog in your post
- Answer the questions below
- Tag 10 others to take part in the tag
- Enjoy the tag!
A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
I don’t know how it is in the rest of the world, but here in the Netherlands there is a big hype going on called The Seven Sisters. Everyone seems to read them, from my mom and her friends to my sisters to one of my best friends. The waiting period for the books in the library is long. And everyone keeps telling me I should start to, but I haven’t (yet?).
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t read it
I feel like all the books on my TBR are already there for forever, so I just gonna mention the book that – according to Goodreads – is on my TBR the longest: You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me by Sarra Manning. It’s been on my TBR since October 2014….
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten around to finishing
I don’t neccessarily like series, so the list isn’t that long:
- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – I haven’t read the last book yet
- The Summer I Turned Pretty – I only read the first one, want to read the rest though!
- An Ember In The Ashes – I read this last year and am not very excited to read more, but at the same time want to know how it ends?
- Harry Potter – Long long ago, I read the first two books and then switched to watching the movies instead.
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but have never actually read
Well, I guess the books by Jane Austen? And also the books American teenagers have to read in school, so that when a YA novel references one, I know what they are talking about. Books like, To Kill A Mockingbird, Moby Dick and The Catcher In The Rye amongst a lot of others.
Maybe that should be a challenge next year? Read one a month?
A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read
Oh gosh, like every book on my TBR? The Flatshare, Frankly In Love, The Bromance Book Club… I could go on.
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but just haven’t picked up yet
I don’t know… I usually make sure I read the book before I watch the movie or show.
Oh! After some research on shows I love I found out that Sweet Magnolias, Virgin River and Chesapeake Shores were books before they were tv shows, so I guess that’ll do 🙂
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet
Again, so many. The one that immediately comes to mind is You Should See Me In A Crown. That one looks like a great read and I’m sure I’ll read it one day.

Hey there!
My name is Jas, welcome to my blog. XIV is about my life around my lucky number. You’ll find anything from songs and books to trips and family stuff.
I’m sorry to hear you’e in a reading slump; I hope you get back to reading soon! 🙂
I enjoyed reading your answers! I just started reading To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before… I’m about 80 pages in and I love how sweet it is, my gosh cuteness overload!!
I feel you about An Ember in the Ashes, when I read it I wasn’t a big fan of it, but the second book… SO GOOD! I highly recommend continuing with the series because the books keep getting better!
Ahh, yes To All The Boys is super sweet! I might have to reread the whole serie before I start the last book!
Hmmm, I’m not a fantasy reader, so that’s part of the problem. But now that I know the second book is better I think I should try it 🙂
I’m only halfway through the first book, but I totally recommend a re-read haha! Such cuteness!
Ah, I see. Well, if you get to it, I do hope you enjoy it! 😃
Ahh I really enjoyed An Ember in the Ashes and its sequel, I need to go on with it. I hope you will, too, I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on it! 🥰
I’m not a fantasy reader, so I’m really hesitant. But I’m so curious! And I feel a little romantic in the first book? So that keeps me interested 😂
Also, I usually love your recommendations, so I guess now I definitely should continue reading!
I hope you will! I feel like the second book is much more intense, but you can also see the relationships growing and I’m all for it. I can’t wait to continue with it 😀
