Accidentally In Love by Belinda Missen | A book review
I had the pleasure to get an ARC of Accidentally in Love from Netgalley & the publisher. So today’s review is about that book!
The synopsis, from Goodreads: In the space of a week, Katharine Patterson has quit her job, decided to move back home, and broken up with the guy she thought was the one.
No big deal.
Because Katharine has a plan. She’s going to open her own art gallery, just like she’s always wanted. What she’s not going to do is worry about boyfriends.
Then she meets Kit, a handsome and talented local artist. He might be the most stubborn person Katharine has ever met. He might also make her feel like no one ever has before.
And Katharine might be about to fall accidentally in love…
My thoughts on Accidentally in Love
So, the synopsis really doesn’t keep many secrets. I still really enjoyed this! To me, the beginning was a bit of a drag at times, but I was invested to see where the story would go. And I was not disappointed!
Katharine is a very fun character. She takes a big risk and works her butt of to achieve the things she wants. At the beginning, she’s at a low point and buys a building to open a gallery. I loved seeing how hard she works to make her dream come true. Of course at one point, there’s a big explosion of moments that turns everything upside down: her friendship, her love life and her work life. But one thing that is constant is her relationship with her family. They had her back through everything. It reminded me of my own family, and I love reading about families in books.
It was really fun to read about how someone just leaves her old life behind and starts over, but the book wouldn’t be complete with the romance between Katharine and Kit. There are A LOT of bumps in the road for them, and I love seeing how it all played out in the end.
It did get me a little worried towards the end when I knew there were only ten pages left and some loose ends weren’t tied yet. In the end, the BIG thing that happened was a bit too much. It could easily been different and still make a great ending.
This book was so much fun. I haven’t read anyhting by this author but I’m definitely going to!
