14 sentences book review: Love Always
Not my usual YA this time, but it was suggested on Goodreads, so I thought it would be a book for me. Love Always is written by Harriet Evans, the first book I ever read from this author. I gave the book 3/5 stars, here’s why:
This book wasn’t like other books I normally read. I won’t say that I didn’t like it, because it was a very interesting and shocking story. The way it was written caused some points though. I’m used to fast-paced chicklits and YA novels, but this was more descriptive. This made me skip some paragraphs sometimes…
Apart from that, the story was very good. I was somewhat annoyed at the beginning because the main character Natasha didn’t know what to do with herself. That combined with a slow pace made it a drag to read at first. I was very happy that I kept reading though, because the twists and the feelings were quite amazing. There are some things happening in the book that you can’t believe, at least I couldn’t. The other characters were somewhat harder to understand because of the plot twists that made me realize they weren’t what I thought they were. I also thought that the description of the characters could be a little clearer (in less words, it was already descriptive enough!).
I’m not sure if I would read another book by this writer, because it took me a while to get hooked. I don’t want to judge her on one book though, so if you have any suggestions for this writer I’m happy to hear them.
What book should I do a review on next?
